Kemil Beach
Serene and scenic Kemil Beach is located within the Indiana Dunes National Park, offering a quieter alternative to some of the more crowded beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Located near Beverly Shores, this stretch of sandy beach provides views over the lake and is great spot to catch a sunset.
The beach is backed by rolling dunes and a network of trails which lead into the surrounding woodlands. A short walk from the parking area takes visitors through a natural landscape of dune grass, oak trees, and wildflowers, which opens up onto this picturesque shoreline. The calm, shallow waters make it a great spot for wading and swimming, though conditions can change with the lake’s shifting currents.
Kemil Beach is popular with birdwatchers and nature lovers, as it is close to the protected wetlands and forests of the national park. The nearby Dune Ridge Trail offers a chance to explore a diverse ecosystem, with elevated views of the lake and surrounding landscape.
With its blend of sandy shores, natural beauty, and easy access to hiking trails, Kemil Beach is an ideal destination for those looking to experience the quieter side of Indiana’s Lake Michigan coastline.
