El Burro Beach
Playa del Burro is a lovely, unspoiled beach located towards the northeast corner of Fuerteventura. Set within the Corralejo Natural Park the beach has fine golden sand dunes, turquoise waters, and strong winds, which make it a favourite among kite surfers and windsurfers.
The beach is part of the Dunas de Corralejo, a protected area famous for its vast sand dunes that create a unique desert-like landscape. While the waves and currents can be strong, making it less ideal for casual swimmers, the setting is perfect for long walks, sunbathing, and water sports.
Playa del Burro is also home to the annual International Kite Festival, where colourful kites fill the sky in a spectacular display. Although it lacks major facilities, its natural beauty and tranquillity make it a fantastic escape for those looking to experience Fuerteventura’s raw coastal charm.
