El Hierro Beach
El Hierro is one of the beaches located on Fuerteventura more remote “North Track”. A wild and rugged beach it is known for its powerful waves and volcanic landscape. This is one of the island’s top spots for surfing, attracting experienced surfers looking for challenging waves.
Unlike the expansive golden-sand beaches further south, El Hierro has a mix of black volcanic rock and coarse sand, creating a dramatic contrast with the deep blue Atlantic. The strong currents and large waves make it unsuitable for swimming, but it’s a fantastic place to watch surfers or enjoy the raw beauty of Fuerteventura’s coastline.
The beach is fairly easy to access by car, with parking available nearby. While there are no facilities, it offers a peaceful escape from the more touristy areas of the island.
