Playa de Matalascañas is a long, sandy beach on the Costa de la Luz between Cadiz and Huelva. Stretching for several kilometres, the beach offers golden sands and gentle Atlantic waves. Known for its warm climate and wide shoreline, Matalascañas is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and long seaside walks.

A prominent landmark on the beach is the Torre la Higuera, a partially submerged watchtower that was toppled by an earthquake in 1755. To this day it remains a distinctive feature.

This section of the Andalusia coast backs onto Doñana National Park, a UNESCO-listed nature reserve home to diverse wildlife, including the endangered Iberian lynx.

With a mix of family-friendly areas, lively beachfront bars, and quieter natural spaces, Playa de Matalascañas is popular with a wide range of visitors.
