Playa Verodal
Playa de Verodal is one of the most striking beaches on the Canary Island of El Hierro. Unlike the typical black sand beaches found in the Canaries this beach has a unique reddish volcanic sand. Combined with the rugged coastal scenery, it offers a wild and untamed beauty that truly stands out.
The beach is set against dramatic cliffs and rock formations, which form a stunning contrast with the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. However, strong currents and powerful waves make swimming dangerous here, so visitors are advised to enjoy the scenery rather than enter the water.
Despite its remote feel, Playa de Verodal is accessible by car, with a parking area nearby. It’s a popular spot for photography and those exploring the island, offering a true sense of El Hierro’s untouched natural beauty.
